Supermicro launches its new X11 generation UP systems and solutions raising the bar on performance and efficiency for their single processor platforms, delivering the industry’s broadest range of workstations, long-life embedded solutions and motherboard platforms supporting the new Intel® Xeon® Processor E3-1200 v5 Family formerly codenamed Skylake-S.
The new solutions support DDR4 memory, USB 3.1, M.2, Dual 10GBase-T and Quad Gigabit Ethernet LAN ports, IPMI 2.0, up to 7x PCI-E 3.0 x16 slots with Supermicro WIO (Wide I/O) flexible expansion slot capability, SATA DOM (Disk on Module) support, 7-year long-life for embedded applications, short-depth and ultra-short depth appliance optimized chassis, high-efficiency power supplies with redundancy and BBP® (Battery Backup Power) options. Supermicro’s new X11 UP solutions target for a wide range of applications including embedded server and security appliances, Cloud computing, web hosting, and network appliances.
Workstation:
The new X11 UP workstations, long-life embedded systems and motherboards integrate the latest technologies such as USB 3.1 and M.2 as well as step up performance, density and efficiency to provide a new generation of Green Computing solutions
Servers:
X11 Skylake-S UP Servers provide substantial performance and efficiency improvements over previous server generations, including support for the latest Intel® Xeon® processor E3-1200 v5 product family that provides a 15% efficiency / performance increase; DDR4 memory implementation that delivers a 14%+ performance improvement over DDR3 memory; all PCI-E 3.0 implementation that achieves a guaranteed 8Gbps bus speed or a 60% performance enhancement over 5Gbps PCI-E 2.0; and all SATA 3.0 implementation bringing a guaranteed 6Gbps storage data rate or a 100% performance increase from the 3Gbps of SATA 2.0. In addition memory capacity is doubled from 32GB of DDR3 to 64GB of ECC DDR4 memory, a 100% increase.

Supermicro X11 Skylake-S UP Servers are targeted for a wide variety of customer applications including Entry Appliance, Cloud Computing and Web Hosting, Network-Centric, Entry-Level Caching Appliance, Entry-Level Storage, and Flexible I/O. They are complemented by Supermicro Server Management Utilities that offer a comprehensive solution to manage and maintain Supermicro servers in an IT datacenter from a single console view; and also Supermicro Onsite Service and Support that provides flexible and customizable Service Level Agreements for remote help desk and rapid onsite support to cover Supermicro hardware solutions.
